The second day of the MercedesCup main draw has a lot of great tennis match-up on tab, amongst others no less than three Germans on the Centre Court.
The day starts at 11 am with Nr. 8 Viktor Troicki against the not to be underestimated Frenchman Benoit Paire. From a German point of view it gets really interesting from 1.30 pm, when last year’s finalist Philipp Kohlschreiber takes on Marcos Baghdatis, darling of the fans from Cyprus.
Continuing on, we have the sentimental favorite of the tournament: Tommy Haas, having received a wild card for the main draw, will have to beat Pierre-Hugues Herbert from France to set up a clash with Roger Federer in the second round on Wednesday.
The final match on the Centre Court will start at 5.30 pm and feature Florian Mayer against Frenchman Jeremy Chardy.
The “Mercedes Court” also has some really big names to offer: No. 7 seed Gilles Simon from France will face Spaniard Feliciano Lopez at 1 pm, directly followed by Bernard Tomic (AUS) against Stephane Robert (FRA). The first match on the “Mercedes Court”, however already starts at 11 am and features the fourth German of the day: Qualifier Peter Gojowczyk will battle against Nikoloz Basilashvili from Georgia to advance to the second round.
