The MercedesCup is headed towards it’s big climax with the semifinals on Saturday.
The day commences at 11 am on the centercourt. The first match is Felix Auger-Aliassime (CAN/ATP 21) against Sam Querrey (USA/67). For the 20-year old Canadian it would be his already eighth final on the tour. However, until now he has lost all seven finals he reached. 33-year old Querrey, on the other hand, is the winner of ten ATP titles.
In the second semifinal, Marin Cilic (CRO/47) will meet Jurij Rodionov (AUT/142). Cilic’s biggest career success was winning the US Open in 2014. In the quarterfinal he ousted the tournament’s number 1, Canadian Denis Shapovalov, in straight sets. Rodionov celebrated his biggest victory on the tour yet by defeating the world’s no. 22, Alex de Minaur from Australia, in three sets in the quarterfinal.
